Dan Cochrane
Having recently sold our dairy farm and cows 12 months ago I have returned to what I love as a Licensed Stock and Station agent and auctioneer, which was what I had been doing prior to dairy farming.
I am 6th generations from my family who has run and owned a dairy farm in Australia. Together with my wife Bec and 3 children we operated a 500 cow dairy at Wogamia in the Shoalhaven region of NSW.
Prior to this I worked for A J Campbell and Son- Stock and Staion Agents in Nowra for 7 years selling beef and dairy cattle, organising live export consignments throughout southern and central NSW.
I worked for Genetics Australia for 2 years as Territory Sales Representative for NSW for dairy genetic sales and while we had our farm I was a director of Genetics Australia Cooperative.
I have have always had a passion for agriculture, but specifically in the dairy industry. Since retiring from farming my aim has been to develop a dairy based business that serves the industry that has been so good to me and my family.
Cochrane Livestock was established to serve the dairy industry with an emphasis to provide livestock marketing solutions that are based on giving the best advice always with facts, not pumped up messages that distract people from the truth.
We can do paddock sales of commercial and registered dairy cattle, organise commercial and stud dairy auctions, which can be done onsite, in a sale yard or online.
We organise consignment loads of retired to abattoirs, which we have been successful over the past 12 months in giving a higher return to them than the were previously.
We can organise for beef cattle to be consigned to saleyards throughout the Southern Highlands of NSW including Yass, Moss Vale and Braidwood through our links to the strongest family family owned agents being Jim Hindmarsh and Son- Moss Vale and in the Far South Coast the through South Coast Livestock- Bega.
